KYB documents checklist

KYB (“know your business”) is the provider’s check of your company. The exact list differs by provider and country, but most ask for the following.

Company

Certificate of incorporation and a recent extract from the company register (usually not older than 3–6 months)
Articles of association or memorandum
Register of shareholders / ownership structure chart down to the ultimate beneficial owners
Register of directors
Proof of the business address (lease, utility bill)
Licences, if your activity is regulated

People

Passport or ID of every director and of every beneficial owner (usually holding 25% or more)
Proof of residential address not older than 3 months
Online identity verification (selfie or video)

Business activity

Website, business description and main products
Main clients and suppliers, and their countries
Sample contracts and invoices
Expected monthly incoming and outgoing volumes and number of payments
Source of funds and source of wealth for owners, if asked

Tips

Translations: documents not in English may need a certified translation.
Consistency: names, addresses and numbers must match across all documents.
Freshness: replace any extract or utility bill older than three months before you upload.
